St Odilia's Crusaders of the Cross
Our Religious Education Program is called “St. Odilia’s Crusaders of the Cross”. St. Odilia’s motto is “I have chosen the cross.” As our patron Saint, we ask her for intersession as we begin our journey of faith together. Classes begin the week of October 16, 2022.
Sunday Mornings:
Children (Grades K - 6) 9:15am - 10:45am
One catechist per grade level with the exception of grades 5 and 6.
Grades K, 1, 3, 4, 5 & 6 will be using the “We Believe” series from Sadlier.
Grade 2 will be preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion using the “Blessed” by Dynamic Catholic.
By incorporating the Sacraments, students in this class will learn how we are the Church and how we are called to be leaders in our church today.
Sunday Nights:
Crusaders for Christ (Grades 9-12) 6pm-7:30pm
Teens will encounter Christ in the scriptures, social, and service events planned throughout the year, in addition to a weekend retreat planned for the last weekend of January 2023.
Wednesdays Nights:
Confirmation (Grades 10 -12) 6:30pm-7:30pm
Teens requesting the Sacrament of Confirmation need an equivalent of two years of catechesis which includes youth ministry. To build community with other teens of the parish, teens are required to attend Crusader Nights in addition to Confirmation classes. An interview with Lupita is required prior to registration.
Jr. Crusaders (Grades 7 & 8) 6:30pm-7:30pm
Jr. Crusaders will take the place of Jr. Samaritans. Tweens will learn about their faith through the Scriptures, social and service events.
Special Sacrament Classes (Grades 3-6 & 7-12) 6:30pm-7:30pm
In January, we will conduct special classes just for kids who wish to catch up on missed Sacraments. One for grades 3 - 6; one for grades 7 - 12. In addition to attending the Special Sacraments class beginning in January, students must attend classes with their peers beginning in October.
